Ariane Tabatabai REWARDED with New Job Days After Claims that She Revealed Israeli Military Secrets to Iran
After the name of Ariane Tabatabai surfaced – thanks to a senior Pentagon official – as the main suspect in the leaking of Israeli strike plans, the Department of Defense quickly batted down the claim, even though the DOD had previously stated it couldn’t comment on matters involving an ongoing investigation. The DOD has a motive to do so. After all, several U.S. Senators sent a letter to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin last year, raising concerns about Tabatabai’s Security Clearance, in light of her connection to the Iranian regime (link to letter here).
Less than one week later, the DOD promoted the alleged leaker, according to the Washington Free Beacon. Her new position is deputy assistant secretary of defense inside Austin’s office. Tabatabai has been identified as “a member of an Iranian government-run influence operation,” according to Politico. Regardless of who leaked the war plans, says Mark Biltz, founder of El Shaddai Ministries, there is a serious culture problem in the halls of power. “Last I checked, Iran is still a designated terrorist country by our own State Department,” Biltz said. “Why is a woman with ties to the Iranian regime even sniffing a security clearance? This is what happens when a woke culture promotes and hires domestic enemies.”
David Rubin, former Mayor of Shiloh Israel and founder of the Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund, also has serious concerns. “Whether Ariane Tabatabai, the Pentagon official accused of leaking plans of a possible Israeli strike on Iran is guilty as charged is not yet certain. However, there was a leak, and the documents did reach Iranian officials,” Rubin said. “There has been a problem in the Biden-Harris administration, the effort to hire Muslim and/or anti-Israel advisors to senior foreign policy and security-related positions.”
Of course, with all the technology at our fingertips, how is it possible that the DOD doesn’t know who the leaker is, Biltz asks rhetorically. “Worse,” he says, “if there’s still an ongoing investigation taking place that they can’t talk about, how can they promote someone with ties to our enemies if they haven’t concluded the investigation yet?”
Of course, the Pentagon – through a spokesman – insists that Tabatabai was “thoroughly and properly vetted,” without providing and specifics or making itself available to answer questions about that vetting. “Well,” says Biltz, “Someone at DOD wasn’t properly vetted because SOMEONE at the DOD leaked the classified documents.”
The highly classified documents appeared on an Iranian Telegram account. Sky News Arabia first reported that a senior Pentagon official identified Tabatabai as the main suspect in the FBI’s investigation (Link below). The DOD, while saying that it will not comment on ongoing investigations, doesn’t seem to have much trouble responding to questions about Tabatabai being a suspect. The DOD quickly denied it.
However, perhaps President Biden and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin have good reason to want everyone to ignore Tabatabai. In September of 2023, several U.S. Senators sent a letter to Lloyd Austin in which they expressed very specific concerns about Tabatabai. Specifically, the Senators wanted to know about Tabatabai’s time spent serving as part of an Iranian Foreign Ministry operation.
Tabatabai’s alleged associations with the Iranian regime dates to at least 2014 and that Iranian dissidents have alleged that she has “a long history of echoing the Iranian Regime’s talking points.” In 2021, Several members of the U.S. House requested a review of Tabatabai’s security clearance.
In 2021, several members of the U.S. House of Representatives requested a serious review of Tabatabai’s security clearance. The Biden administration demonized the requests as “Smears and slander”.
Biltz raises a salient point. “If Tabatabai was responsible for the leak, don’t you think the DOD would say she isn’t? Isn’t this the same DOD that ignore all the warnings about her and even smeared members of Congress who raised legitimate questions?”
