How Will President Biden’s New Executive Order on Guns Affect the Rights of Private Gun Owners? (Guest: Second Amendment)

A Second Amendment representative explains why Biden’s latest executive order won’t stop criminal gun violence.

During a recent visit to Monterey Park CA,  President Joe Biden announced that he will sign an executive order which will get “the U.S. as close to universal background checks as possible” in an effort to curb the “active shooter” events .

Additionally, Biden will speak with the Federal Trade Commission to get a public report taking a closer look at how gun manufacturers market firearms to minors.

This could also be problematic when it comes to private gun owners. This executive order could allow a “pick and choose” process with those that purchase weapons. And it also paints a target on gun manufacturers, instead of  prosecuting the criminals that have been arrested.

Finally, it moves Biden one step closer to his ultimate goal to ban “assault weapons.”. And that could be much more than a mere slap on the wrists for private gun owners, who have the right to bear arms as provided by the Second Amendment of the Constitution.

With us now to discuss this further is a representative for the Second Amendment Foundation, a group that continues to fight for the right  to bear arms. Their expertise will prove helpful in this matter.

Q&A:

  1. What would you say is the biggest problem with this Biden executive order?
  2. Could the increase in background checks stop honest people from properly getting their hands on firearms?
  3. Biden’s also pushing for the Federal Trade Commission to crack down on how “gun manufacturers market firearms to minors.” However, there haven’t been that many clear-cut examples of this advertising. Is this merely a fear tactic?
  4. Once this executive order is signed, could that inspire Biden to work more towards his all-out ban of “assault weapons”? We’ve already seen how ineffective such laws can be, particularly with California.
  5. Why do you believe Biden would rather ban weapons in the United States rather than work on a plan that revolves around Concealed-Carry (or as some would call it, Constitutional-Carry)?
  6. Where can people call in to pledge their support to the Second Amendment Foundation?

The number to support the group is (800) 699-0992.

7. Where can we learn more about the Second Amendment Foundation and its members?
