Facebook Comments Reveal Common Ground Between Two Sides of Most Polarizing Issue in America
The abortion debate is perhaps the most charged in America. On one side, the pro-life crowd stands in defense of the unborn, a righteous fight. In the other corner, the pro-choice crowd stands in defense of scared women. The terms are so polarizing that no one sees reconciliation possible.
Yet, IT’S HAPPENING right before our eyes! Nathan and Emily Berning, founders of Let Them Live absolutely LOVES to see it!
Take the example of a young lady with Humans of New York, who delivered her testimony on her Facebook page (link below to see all the comments). She had been working at a food pantry for her church, handing out much needed products to scared, young women but she wasn’t allowed to get to know them. Physical necessities are great, but the human condition REQUIRES emotional connections.
The pro-life stance of the church was one thing but actually helping young mothers cope and navigate through life’s trials was not happening. Then this young woman started the Mom Community Night, and those much needed connections started forming – real, physical connections.
Comments in response to the amazing story were prolific but perhaps this one best illustrates how the divide is being bridged:
“While I am %100 percent pro-choice I respect this woman for understanding that there is more to be done than just mouthing words. Action is what is needed to support all moms – young and older, por or not when they choose to bring a baby into the world.”
