Law enforcement veteran Michael Letts will demonstrate how misguided the FBI is.
For months now, we’ve been hearing reports about the imbalanced and inappropriate enforcement taking place within the FBI, from the unwarranted “invasion” of former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate to several former employees turned whistleblowers discussing the disturbing practices of bureau director Christopher Wray and his agents. But now, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and his House Judiciary Committee are finally moving forward with their investigation.
Per this report from The Epoch Times, the chair of the Committee recently subpoenaed FBI Director Wray, just months after an internal memo revealed that they were ready to spy on Catholic parishes in an effort to track down “violent extremists” in places of worship.
Despite the bureau stating that it wasn’t taking part in any actions against Catholics, Jordan revealed in a recent letter that, per the notes from an undercover agent, the FBI was going to move forward on the actions suggested by the memo.
“Based on the limited information produced by the FBI to the Committee, we now know that the FBI relied on at least one undercover agent to produce its analysis, and that the FBI proposed that its agents engage in outreach to Catholic parishes to develop sources among the clergy and church leadership to inform on Americans practicing their faith,” Jordan noted in his letter.
“This shocking information reinforces our need for all responsive documents, and the Committee is issuing a subpoena to you to compel your full cooperation.”
The FBI hasn’t yet responded to the subpoena, but this does leave some rather interesting questions on the bureau’s actions. With us now to discuss this further is Michael Letts, a law enforcement veteran with over 30 years of experience under his belt. Letts currently serves as President, Founder and CEO for InVest USA, a group that provides bulletproof vests to police officers through various charitable organizations and sponsorships. His expertise should prove useful in this matter.
Q&A:
- For months now, you’ve been questioning the actions of FBI Director Christopher Wray and his fellow agents at the Bureau. Would you say that Mar-a-Lago was a big starting point for their actions, or do they go even further than that?
- Why do you think Wray and his agents were ready to act on the memo, despite saying in various public statements that it wouldn’t be doing so?
- What do you think the biggest problem is within the FBI right now? Wray’s leadership? Too many corrupt agents? Influence from the Biden administration or another government agency?
- Do you think Wray will try to object to the subpoena in any way? Or will he answer it and just try to provide “fluff” answers that the Committee wants to hear?
- Recently, Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy noted that “top-down reform” is impossible at this point, and the best solution for the FBI is to “shut it down”. Do you think this is the best course of action?
- What would your actions be if you were in charge of the FBI?
- You’re the creator of InVest USA, an organization that provides bulletproof vests to police officers through various charitable groups and sponsorships. Tell us more about that, and why support for fellow officers is so important right now.
- Where can we learn more about InVest USA, and how those interested can help their fellow officers.
