House Democrats Are Looking To Bully Republicans Into Voting On an Assault Weapons Ban

A Second Amendment representative explains why the bill poses a threat to all private gun owners – even with the protection of the Constitution.

In an effort to attempt to “keep their country safe,” a trio of Democrats are looking to introduce bills that could very well force Republican leaders to vote on an assault weapons ban.

According to The Washington Post, Rep. Lucy McBath (D-Ga.), Rep. James E. Clyburn (D-S.C.) and Rep. Mike Thompson (D-Calif.) recently introduced bills that could overcome objections from Republican leaders, creating the opportunity for a floor vote on the proposed assault weapons ban. As noted in the past, Biden completely supports these Democrats, wishing to ban the weapons completely.

“While the American people are calling for progress, it remains clear House Republican leadership refuses to take this issue seriously. The American people deserve more from their elected representatives,” said Thompson, speaking about the push. “Action on gun violence prevention is long overdue. The only question is will Republicans join us in bringing these bills up for a vote.”

Although that sounds like a win for gun advocates, it spells big trouble for private gun owners. Even with the Second Amendment in place, Republicans and Biden look to make their “assault weapons” ban a reality.

Joining us now is a representative for the Second Amendment Foundation to explain why Republicans and private gun owners need to stand strong to keep their rights from being violated by Biden and his Democrats.

Q&A:

  1. Why do you think Biden and his fellow Democrats are so driven to ban “assault weapons” instead of looking at other solutions to deal with growing violence in the United States?
  2. Would an “assault weapons” ban even be effective in this day and age? Especially considering how easy it is to find such weapons online? Wouldn’t that just make the ban a waste of time anyway?
  3. Do you think the Second Amendment in the Constitution could nullify any attempt to pass an “assault weapons” ban? Especially since it makes clear that every citizen has the right to bear arms?
  4. If for some reason the “assault weapons” ban is passed, do you see violence potentially increasing in this country as a result?
  5. What sort of bill should Biden and his Democrats be considering instead of an all-out ban? Concealed-Carry? Or some other route?
  6. Do you see the bill making any sort of progress? Could there be enough Republicans to keep it from passing?
  7. Where can we learn more about the Second Amendment Foundation and what it can do for its members?
