Group spokesman Stephen Willeford explains why the Ohio Republican representative is an ideal candidate for the role.
The House is in full disarray at the moment, as Republicans can’t seem to make up their minds on how to move forward with electing a new Speaker of the House now that Kevin McCarthy has been ousted.
For the longest time, many, including former President Donald Trump, have been pushing to get Ohio representative Jim Jordan into the role. However, after three rounds of voting, there’s still no decisive answer, and he’s still a ways from earning the Speaker vote.
This is frustrating many who are simply seeking leadership, including the Gun Owners of America. They officially endorsed Jim Jordan as the new Speaker of the House in their recent newsletter. “Rep. Jim Jordan is a proven 2A leader who will stand up to business as usual in the Swamp and fight to defend our God-given rights,” they noted.
Joining us now to discuss this further is Stephen Willeford, the spokesman for the Gun Owners of America. You may recall he was considered the “hero with a gun” from the 2017 Sutherland Springs incident, and even wrote a book about it. His expertise will certainly be welcome in this matter.
