Guest interview pitch: TOPIC: Keep the Change: Ben & Jerry’s Anti-Cop Ice Cream

“Ben & Jerry couldn’t be more out of touch with mainstream American than with this new flavor. How many experts believe that putting a social worker on the streets in Chicago will quell the escalating crime and violence there? This is insulting to all law enforcement and first responders.” Michael Letts, CEO, InVest USA.

Who knew that ice cream could be so political? Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream is at it again with the announcement of their new flavor, ‘Change is Brewing’ in conjunction with anti-police Congresswoman Cori Bush. All profits from the new flavor will be directed to ‘Defund the Police Movement’ $10 billion legislation that seeks to defund cops and replace them with social workers in certain instances.

By Ben & Jerry’s urging customers to join Black Lives Matter and support Bush’s bill it sends a clear signal to law enforcement – we don’t want your business. Maybe it’s time that law enforcement boycott the Vermont-based ice cream maker.

Discussion Questions:

1.) How do First Responders feel about Ben & Jerry’s new attack on them?

2.) What will be their response?

3.) How can Americans help our First Responders?

4.) What will be the effect on our communities in the future?

GUEST: Michael A Letts is the CEO and Founder of  In-VestUSA, a national grassroots non-profit organization that is helping hundreds of communities provide thousands of bullet-proof vests for their police forces through educational, public relations, sponsorship, and fundraising programs.
