According to Pederson, the experience began with a strange luminous orb moving through the night sky in ways he says defied conventional explanations. What started as a distant light allegedly descended from the wilderness and approached the vehicle where he and a business partner had stopped during the early morning hours. The location was about as isolated as one could imagine: a remote stretch of road near an island property locals had repeatedly warned him was a UFO hotspot.
Pederson claims the orb maneuvered with intelligence, navigating around trees before stopping just outside his vehicle window—close enough, he says, that only the glass separated him from the object.
