Government and Corporations March in Lockstep Under the ESG Banner – What Could Go Wrong? (Guest: Kevin Stocklin)

The writer of The Shadow State, a new documentary on Epoch TV, discusses what’s happening with the ESG (environmental, social and governance) industry.

The ESG industry is a multi-trillion dollar power structure that brings together governments with corporations, in an effort to, as BlackRock CEO Larry Fink put it, “force behaviors.” The ESG industry focuses on three areas that are most vital to people’s lives: food, fuel and money.

The new documentary The Shadow State investigates how the ESG industry has succeeded in forcing behaviors, what its goals are, and what this all means for those of us who don’t have a voice or vote in this movement but feel the effects of it nonetheless.

While ESG activists believe that a back-door global alliance is the only way to impose an environmental and social-justice agenda, which has failed to gain public support through the democratic process, others fear that concentrating power in the hands of an unelected elite will lead to conflict, political instability, and economic decline.

How does the ESG industry work, who are the players, and how is it affecting our everyday lives? With us now is filmmaker Kevin Stocklin, who directed The Shadow State. He previously created the 2008 documentary We All Fall Down: The American Mortgage Crisis, and also contributes regularly to The Epoch Times.

Q&A:

  1. What prompted you to make The Shadow State? Why do people need to know about ESG?
  2. How powerful has this industry become over the past few years? Do you see it growing even bigger in the years ahead?
  3. What do you think are the biggest concerns when it comes to an industry like this? The possibility of putting people into poverty? Political instability?
  4. How did the ESG industry succeed in arm-twisting corporations to get in line with its agenda?
  5. How does the ESG movement affect our everyday lives? Could the ESG industry become powerful enough that “20th century totalitarians” could see their visions come to life?
  6. What evidence is there that this is actually happening?
  7. Who is pushing back against this movement?
  8. Do you think there’s any solution to keeping the ESG industry in check? Or has it reached a point where it’s simply too big to resist?
  9. Where can people view The Shadow State? We understand there’s also a DVD release coming soon as well?

The Shadow State is available right now on Epoch TV. Those interested in pre-ordering the DVD for release can do so here.
