At a time when many within the government are seeking a solution to active shooter events, one may have presented itself recently in Indiana.
During a recent shooting event where three people were killed, a 22-year old legally carrying a firearm stopped the gunman before he could inflict further harm.
“The real hero of the day is the citizen that was lawfully carrying a firearm in that food court and was able to stop the shooter almost as soon as he began,” said Greenwood Police Department Chief Jim Ison in a statement.
Despite the three lives lost during the incident, the quick actions of the hero-with-a-gun indicate that there could be something said about concealed-carrying citizens leveraging the playing field against active shooters.
