Gun Expert on Glock Bending the Knee

Glock’s Hollow Point: Gun Maker Cites “innovation” While Bending Knee to Newsom

Glock is under fire — not from its users, but from the state of California. In a move that’s ignited outrage among gun owners nationwide, reports indicate that Glock may be preparing to alter its firearm design across the country to comply with California’s sweeping handgun restrictions signed into law by Governor Gavin Newsom. The law effectively bans the sale of most Glock models in the state, a cornerstone brand for law-abiding citizens and law enforcement alike.

Rather than fight back, Glock appears to be bending the knee — retooling its entire production line in hopes of winning back access to California’s market. It’s an extraordinary shift for one of the most iconic gun manufacturers in the world, and one that has many within the Second Amendment community questioning whether the company is abandoning principle for profit.

Stephen Willeford, national spokesman for Gun Owners of America and the man who famously stopped the Sutherland Springs church shooter with his own AR-15, can offer critical insight into this unfolding controversy. Willeford argues that any capitulation to anti-gun politicians like Newsom not only undermines the rights of millions of responsible gun owners but emboldens further attacks on the Second Amendment.

He can address what Glock’s rumored changes might mean for consumers nationwide — from new “microstamping” requirements and trigger-lock mandates to more invasive design modifications that could compromise reliability and personal safety. More broadly, he can explain why this issue goes far beyond Glock: it’s about whether America’s most trusted gunmakers will stand up to political pressure or sell out their users to appease one of the most anti-gun states in the country.

As Willeford puts it, “You don’t preserve freedom by begging permission from those who want to take it away.”

Willeford is in Texas this week attending the Megyn Kelly Live event, with stops in both Sugar Land and San Antonio. The tour, drawing major conservative voices from across the country, will also feature Tucker Carlson among its headline guests. For Willeford, it’s an opportunity not only to engage with leading figures in the national conversation on freedom and accountability but also to highlight the growing concern among gun owners that corporate America — including once-reliable firearms manufacturers — is beginning to cave under political pressure. His presence underscores that this debate is no longer confined to gun ranges and courtrooms; it’s front and center in the broader cultural fight over liberty, self-defense, and the erosion of American independence.
