Epstein Inversion: Same Machine that Protected a Predator Targeted a Father for Protecting his Sons
The Jeffrey Epstein scandal exposed what can happen when wealth, influence and government connections shield an accused predator from consequences for years. Author of Houses of the Holy: A Nightmare Web of Hate, Crime, Corruption and Child Abuse, Mark Harris and his family experienced the inverse nightmare: instead of powerful people protecting the alleged perpetrators, he claims the system turned its power against him after he fought to protect his two kidnapped sons.

- Mark Harris, a father, says fighting for his sons made him a target
- His family’s ordeal raises troubling questions about institutional protection
- Harris the father draws a stark contrast with Epstein’s powerful protectors
- Federal authorities ultimately targeted Harris’s alleged nemesis
- This father’s story challenges assumptions about who government power protects
Harris says his ordeal became a battle not merely for custody of his children, but for their safety and his own survival as he confronted what he describes as a network of corruption, abuse and institutional protection. According to Harris, rather than receiving meaningful help, as a father, he became a target of the very machinery he believed should have been protecting his family.
People will be shocked when they recognize many of these names and yes, they reside on both sides of the political aisle. This level of corruption transcends any party loyalty or even the alleged ideals of those parties.
There is also a stunning contrast with Epstein. Epstein’s relationships with wealthy and politically connected figures became a defining feature of the scandal, raising questions about why an extraordinarily powerful system appeared unwilling or unable to stop him. Harris’s story presents the opposite question: What happens when the system doesn’t protect the accused? In Harris’s case, it targeted the parent who refused to stop fighting.
Harris can discuss the parallels between his experience and the Epstein scandal without suggesting the cases are identical. His argument is about something broader and potentially more disturbing: how the machinery of government can behave very differently depending upon who has power, who has connections and who challenges the system.
Why was Epstein able to operate for so long with powerful people around him, while Harris says his determination to recover and protect his sons made him the target of an institutional campaign?
Harris offers a deeply personal perspective on what happens when a father’s fight for his children collides with powerful institutions—and when seeking justice allegedly makes him the enemy.
Harris also offers a rare firsthand perspective on the psychological and emotional cost of fighting a system he believes was determined to break him. His story is ultimately about more than one family: it raises questions about whether parents can safely challenge powerful institutions when their children are at stake. For audiences fascinated by Epstein, elite protection and institutional corruption, Harris provides the other side of the equation—a father who says he became the target rather than the protected party.
