The author of Sassy and Rude: Her New Attitude discusses how to approach connection, especially in a stressful holiday season.
The holidays can usually bring out the best in people. But there’s also a good amount of stress, especially when it comes to family.
For instance, daughters. They can sometimes go through situations where it’s hard to relate to a mother or father, leaving hurt feelings and that notion that you just aren’t doing enough. As a result, you’re left feeling “too nice” and wondering what more you could’ve done for better connection.
Dr. Debra Mandel realizes this. With her book, Sassy and Rude: Her New Attitude, she discusses the importance of maintaining a connection with daughters, especially as they grow up in a troubled world with their own complexities.
Mandel joins us now to discuss the book, and the opening steps that can be taken when it comes to healing or deepening the relationship with a daughter, especially over the holidays.
