Did President Trump Connect with Heartland Swing State Voters with his Convention Message?

Intro: Now that both political conventions are in the rear-view mirror, the question is: Which candidate’s message resonated best with swing voters in heartland America, especially in the battleground states.

It is unlikely that Joe Biden will win in Wyoming. It is equally unlikely that President Trump will sweep California. So, whoever wins the purple states will be taking the oath of office on January 20, 2021.

Providing analysis and a purple state perspective on this matter is a man Ed Martin, otherwise known as the Political Purple Martin of politics. Ed is the former Chairman of the Missouri Republican Party and is successor of conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly as President of the Eagle Forum Education and Legal Defense Fund.  Ed is also the author of the New York Times best-seller “The Conservative Case for Trump.” Welcome Ed.

Q&A:

  1. Did President Trump Connect with Heartland Swing State Voters with his RNC speech or was he merely preaching to the converted?

Answer: Yes, and a quick example of this is in areas of rioting. Donald trump made the case that he is a President of law and order while a growing number of people view Democrats as fanning the flames of mob violence.

  1. How does school choice fit into the current political landscape?

Answer: In light of the fact that the majority of American families are dealing with tough school situations due to the pandemic, this is a huge issue and President Trump and the Republican Party are leading the way on this issue that is key to winning purple states.

  1. Why, thank you, Purple Martin. Unless a person is living under a rock, they’ve heard a lot about racism lately. Point blank. Do you think we are a racist nation?

Answer: No. And if Democrats would stop inciting violence and fomenting reverse racism, we’d have a civil colorblind society. But the worse nightmare of a Democrat political strategist is if the truth ever gets out the Republicans are not racist. They know that would cost millions in lost political contribution and millions more lost votes.

  1. If I may dare ask, what group do you believe is the most racist entity in America?

Answer: While you may expect me to say Black Lives Matter, the very most racist group is probably the teachers unions that are largely responsible for trapping poor children in failing schools.

  1. Which of the major two political parties do you believe is the Party of forgiveness, pardons, and diversity?

Answer: The Republican Party, hands down.

  1. Who was the most important speaker?

Answer: Herschel Walker and Jack Brewer (break the spell of “he is a racist”) and Lou Holtz (the second most pressing issue this Fall – after schools – will be the lack of college football in Big Ten states – PA, MI, WI, IA, OH, and IL).

  1. What is the main national security issue for a second term?

Answer: China which is killing our kids (Fentanyl), stealing our intellectual property (tech transfer), and persecuting her people (Catholics, Muslims, Falun Gong), and looking to dominate her neighbors (Taiwan).  Biden cannot stand up to China; Trump can.
