Law enforcement veteran Michael Letts provides his two cents on the representative’s high spending for protection in the face of removing funds from law enforcement agencies.
It’s interesting to see certain representatives spend a great deal of money on personal protection after making an effort to assure that certain police departments don’t have the money they so desperately need.
Fox News recently reported that progressive Democrat Rep. Cori Bush, who has spent a great deal of time over the past couple of years pushing for the government to “defund the police,” has a rather extravagant bill when it comes to personal security.
The report indicates that Bush used her campaign to pay “security operators” with military and law enforcement over $490,000 over the course of her election cycle this year. In fact, between late October and November alone, she spent nearly $40,000.
Her spending for security actually began back in 2021, and when asked about it, she gave a rather interesting response. “They would rather I die? You would rather me die? Is that what you want to see? You want to see me die? You know, because that could be the alternative.”
She also added, “So suck it up, and defunding the police has to happen.”
