COVID-19 Containment, Israel-Styl

“I’m not a scientist, but I feel very comfortable discussing all things Israel!”

–David Rubin, former mayor of Shiloh, Israel

Every day we see news of new actions taken by leaders of nations to contain the COVID-19 Coronavirus.
But every day we see that new reports of accelerating spread of that the disease.
Included in the fight to stop the spread of this contagion is the nation of Israel.

Q&A:

Why is Israel at a serious disadvantage when it comes to battling the Corona Virus? Israel is a very small country, about the size of New Jersey, with a relatively dense population, conditions that are conducive to the spread of the virus.

That being said, why is Israel especially well-equipped to meet the Corona Virus challenge? We are a country that is constantly under attack and under threat of attack from terrorism and war. Because of that, we have learned to be extremely disciplined in times of crisis and to follow instructions from the relevant authorities.

Israel is also a very creative and scientifically advance country. Is it true that Israeli scientists may soon have a vaccine? Yes, a team of Israeli scientists believes that they are very close to discovering a vaccine that will end this horrible crisis. After four years of research, they have discovered a vaccine for the Coronavirus that affects poultry, and since the genetics of the poultry coronavirus are highly similar to the coronavirus found in humans, and that it uses the same infection mechanism, it just needs to be adapted for humans.

How long will this process take? The goal is to produce the vaccine over the next two months and achieve safety approval in 90 days.
