Could Haiti’s Escaped Prisoner Crisis Make Its Way Into the United States?

A Second Amendment Foundation representative discusses the importance of having weapons to protect yourselves, especially with a potential crisis.

A crisis is ongoing right now in Haiti, and the specter of violence and anarchy looms large, not just over the Caribbean nation but with the potential of reaching the United States.

With thousands of convicts freed in violent prison breaks and gang alliances fortifying under leaders with a grim vision, the situation is growing more dire with each day. This evolving crisis does bring up an interesting question: Will the convicts and chaos of Haiti find their way to the United States through our Southern Border? With the ongoing migrant crisis happening right now, that seems relatively easy.

With that comes the question of importance when it comes to the right to bear arms. With so many advocates trying to remove gun rights, it’s important to note that this is just one of the big reasons why so many invest in firearms, for the sake of protecting themselves and their loved ones.

We now discuss the matter with a representative of the Second Amendment Foundation, who explains why, now more than ever, it’s important for Americans and private gun owners to have protection.

Q&A:

  1. Would you say scenarios like what’s happening in Haiti are why many people invest in firearms? To protect themselves and loved ones?
  2. Judging by what you may have read, do you believe Haiti’s forces could pose a threat on the United States? Especially with what’s happening at our borders right now?
  3. How would you best suggest American citizens to “be ready” just in case of any sort of infiltration?
  4. What role do you believe the Second Amendment plays when it comes to ensuring the safety and security of American citizens, especially in times of international turmoil?
  5. How can communities come together to support law enforcement in safeguarding against external threats such as these?
  6. How should the U.S. government respond to such a crisis? Should leaders set aside their own disdain for guns and instead focus on how people can keep safe?
  7. What message does a strong pro-Second Amendment stance send to those who might consider threatening the peace and security of the U.S.?
  8. Where can we learn more about the Second Amendment Foundation and its members?
  9. Those interested can visit http://www.saf.org/.
