CEO Jim Harden explains why he is taking matters into his own hands.
Ever since the overturning of Roe vs. Wade by the Supreme Court last year, pro-life pregnancy centers have come under attack. Not happy with what federal agencies are doing with their investigations, CompassCare CEO Jim Harden has opted to take matters into his own hands.
The company is teaming up with the Thomas More Society to hire investigators to look into the attacks, including a firebombing of a CompassCare location in Buffalo. This comes on the heels of a poor effort by the Federal Bureau of Investigation to come up with any suspects from this or other attacks.
Harden said in a press statement, “It is a sad day when private citizens are left to do the work of law enforcement. If the FBI is being used for political purposes, all investigative efforts should turn on them. The organization should be reformed and those involved indicted for conspiracy to deprive pro-life citizens of their rights.”
Harden (or advancement manager Daniel Tomlinson) joins us now to talk about this new initiative, as well as the lack of action by the FBI.
Q&A:
- Why do you think the FBI isn’t putting forward any effort in its investigation of the Buffalo CompassCare firebombing? It seems the FBI has a dodgy history of investigating any sort of serial violence against pro-life Christians and pregnancy centers.
- How did the idea of teaming up with the Thomas More Society come about? What role will they play in assisting private investigators with their findings?
- What do you hope the investigations will bring? Will the FBI even take notice of the results, you think?
- You noted in your press statement that you believe attacks of this nature will continue against pro-life pregnancy centers and supporters this year. Just how bad do you believe things will get?
- For those that are interested in supporting CompassCare and learning more about the services they provide, where can they go?
