Agents of CCP Increasingly Arrested inside the United States
The good news is that an increasing number of spies for the Communist Chinese Party (CCP) inside the United States are being arrested. That’s also the bad news because it means we’re seeing an uptick in espionage from China, which very well could indicate aggression, desperation, or a combination of both. Authorities just arrested two spies from the CCP on American soil, as well as several others near a U.S. military installation in Guam.
Another two members of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) were arrested for targeting members of the Shen Yun Performing Arts Center. Again, this is not surprising when just a few weeks ago, we learned that China’s President XI Jinping has referred to the rise of the Shen Yun dance as ‘dire’ to the safety and security of China.
Wait. Did I say the president of China is afraid of dance? Yes, you read that right. It’s a form of Asian Footloose. Shen Yun is not only forbidden within China’s borders but there’s a reason why Chinese spies were sent to the U.S. mainland to target Shen Yun here. That reason has to do with the perceived threat it poses to communism.
For starters, why would a form of dance be so terrifying to China’s president? Second, what business does he have sending spies to the U.S. who intend to intimidate these dancers? On one hand, it speaks to the power of the purveyors of a demonstration of centuries-old Chinese culture, over the Communist president of their country. On other hand, it speaks to the fear and audacity of that president to infiltrate a foreign country in order to deal with the perceived threat of dance.
It seems that Xi may be expending an awful lot of political capital over extinguishing something so harmless. Ah, but it’s not harmless to the CCP in ways not dissimilar from how light is not harmless to darkness or how truth is not harmless to lies or how joy is not harmless to sorrow.
With that, a spokesperson for Shen Yun joins us now to discuss this report further, as well as what lies ahead for the show.
