China’s Ties With Russia Has the Biden Administration Deeply Concerned (Guest: Nan Su)

The Epoch Times’ Nan Su takes a closer look at issues surrounding the sale of non-lethal equipment in the war against Ukraine.

Should the U.S. be more concerned with what China is up to?

A new report from CNN noted that the administration of President Joe Biden has started to look a little deeper into the connection between China and Russia. Evidence has come their way, suggesting that Chinese companies have sold non-lethal equipment to Russia in their ongoing fight against Ukraine, and have also begun looking into how much Beijing knows about the transactions.

They find these transfers “concerning,” to say the least, even though the shipments mainly contain gear such as flak jackets and helmets. U.S. officials have noted that members of the Chinese government knew about these transfers, and indicated that steps need to be taken in an effort to upend them. That said, there’s no official word on contact between the Biden administration and Beijing at this point.

As Secretary of State Tony Blinken prepares to visit China in a few weeks, some are wondering just what the extent of this partnership may be. Joining us now to discuss this further is Nan Su, an investigative reporter for The Epoch Times that specializes in all things related to China. His expertise should prove quite useful in this matter.

Q&A:

  1. How deep in agreement do you believe Russia and Beijing are? Could the result of this agreement result in Beijing siding with Russia against Ukraine?
  2. Do you think the partnership between Beijing and Russia is long-term, or is it merely an effort to try and take advantage of the West as the war against Ukraine continues?
  3. Along with North Korea and Iran, how concerned should the United States be with this Russia-China pairing? Is their military something that should be worth paying attention to? Or something else?
  4. As Tony Blinken prepares to visit China in a few weeks, what do you think his main goal should be? Security to Taiwan, who has consistently come under fire from Chinese officials? Or perhaps another matter?
  5. Which is the bigger threat to the world? China or Russia? Or would you say they come out about equal?
  6. Speaking of what’s going on with China, you recently contributed to a new Epoch Times documentary called The Final WarTell us more about it and why it’s such a compelling subject with everything that’s happening right now.
  7. Where can we learn more about you and see your work over on The Epoch Times?
