The Epoch Times’ investigative reporter explains the consequences .
There have been signs that China has been building up its military reserves, possibly foreshadowing a conflict with the United States. And this week, an alarming new one has taken shape. The discovery was made in a letter last month, in with the top commander of U.S. nuclear forces noted the threat. (However, the U.S. still has more warheads and intercontinental ballistic missiles, at least for the moment.)
The four Republicans noted in a statement, “This should serve as a wake-up call for the United States. It is not an understatement to say that the Chinese nuclear modernization program is advancing faster than most believed possible.” This follows the recent forming of a committee to investigate the actions of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), which have been very questionable as of late – especially with its presence inside our country.
It’s also worth noting that China has begun to test hypersonic weapons, something to which the U.S. is trying to catch up. China recently had a hypersonic glide vehicle make its way near Taiwan, as well as Russia.

- Republicans have shown concern over China’s growing nuclear arsenal. Do you think it’s a severe warning sign? Could Xi Jinping be building up reserves for a potential attack against Taiwan?
- Is this possibly in retaliation to Congress recently putting together a Committee to investigate China and the CCP? Especially after hearing of potential infiltration of the United States (such as the recently shuttered police station in New York City)?
- Could this create tension with visiting politicians in China? Or do you believe they’ll try to ease said tension?
- What about the significance of hypersonic weapons? Why is the U.S. (and for that matter, perhaps Taiwan) so concerned over these?
- A four-star general noted earlier this month that he anticipates a war between China and the United States by 2025. Do you believe this is accurate?
