Cell-Out City (Guest: Jeff Crouere)

Ten New Orleans Inmates Escape in Dead of Night as Woke Sheriff Snoozes

Progressive policies don’t just fail on paper—they’re now allowing violent criminals to literally walk out of jail in New Orleans.

Jeff Crouere, conservative commentator and host of Ringside Politics, is sounding the alarm in New Orleans. Crouere slams the leftist leadership that has ruled New Orleans uninterrupted for more than 150 years—and that now presides over a city in freefall.

Ten dangerous inmates, including murderers, recently escaped the Orleans Parish Prison. The facility, under the direction of Sheriff Susan Hutson, a progressive activist more focused on “transformative justice” and “gender-affirming care” than public safety, failed to notice the jailbreak for seven hours. Taunting messages were left behind: “Too easy lol.”

This follows a horrific New Year’s Day terrorist attack on Bourbon Street and an NOPD in crisis, with dangerously low staffing and recruitment.

Crouere connects the dots: broken leadership, broken locks, broken lives. The city has hemorrhaged population, leads the nation in poverty and crime, and yet continues to elect candidates based on woke credentials rather than competence.

Jeff Crouere is available to discuss:

  • Why New Orleans’ collapse is a case study in unchecked progressivism
  • The failure of symbolism-over-substance policies in crime, education, and infrastructure
  • What it will take to reverse course—and why voters may finally be fed up
  • New Orleans may be the “City That Care Forgot,” but this disaster is a wake-up call America can’t ignore.

OPTIONAL Q&A:

  1. You’ve called the recent prison break in New Orleans a product of progressivism—can you explain how progressive policies directly contributed to this escape?
  2. What do you say to critics who claim Sheriff Susan Hutson inherited a broken system and shouldn’t shoulder all the blame?
  3. You note New Orleans hasn’t had a Republican mayor since 1872. What political or cultural forces have kept that monopoly in place for over 150 years?
  4. Is there any sign that voters in New Orleans are finally ready to break with the status quo, or is it more of the same this election cycle?
  5. You draw a connection between ‘symbolism over substance’ and failed leadership. Can you give examples where this approach backfired most egregiously in New Orleans?
  6. How does the dysfunction in New Orleans reflect broader national trends in other Democrat-run cities like San Francisco or Chicago?
  7. You cite population loss and a soaring poverty rate. How much worse do things have to get before voters demand real accountability?
  8. What solutions—realistically—would begin to turn things around in New Orleans, and is there a viable political movement on the ground ready to deliver them?
