A spokesman for the Gun Owners of America explains why the House Ways and Means Committee needs to make changes before it’s too late.
As expected, Republican interference has caused big changes to key measures that could have done away with the National Firearms Act. As it stands, such revisions could be devastating when it comes to certain gun rights.
The House Ways and Means Committee recently released a new draft bill regarding its changes to the Act. But, surprisingly, it’s leaving out two key components.
The first is the Hearing Protection Act, which aims at removing suppressors from the Act; while the second, the SHORT Act, would’ve stopped a future anti-gun administration from giving the NFL full ability to go after pistol-braced owners, just as the Biden Administration previously attempted to.
The Gun Owners of America have been fighting to get both of these provisions added in an effort to cut back the National Firearms Act. But it appears that Republican interference could now hurt gun owners in the long term.
A spokesman for the Gun Owners of America joins us now to discuss this matter further. We welcome them to the show!
