California Shifting back to Re-funding Police Guest: Michael Letts

Did violence and looting lead them to see the light of reason?

Is California Repenting from its progressive ways and shifting back to re-funding the Police? Has violence and looting led them to see the light of reason? Yes, says our special guest Michael Letts, a policeman, firefighter, and first responder to the 9/11 attacks.

Michael Letts believes that after a recent wave of looting being reported worldwide, some politicians in the Sunshine State realized they had egg on their faces with the cold realization that if you defund the police, people bent on criminal actions have no restraint and will tear up your cities. This abrupt wake-up call from their progressive slumber has led even ardently liberal politicos to seek a shift back to law and order. Welcome, Michael Letts.

Talking Points for Host and Michael Letts:

l.) How is the Governor of California increasing Police presence in high traffic areas to stem the tide of looting?

A.) The Governor is ordering a State Agency, the California Highway Patrol, to deploy more of its force in the areas of looting. Unfortunately, that is taking them away from policing the highways. But triage has to rule the day for now, in this era of under-funded police.

2.) Some politicians are doing an about-face on their prior pro-Defund the Police stand. They seem to have the attitude that the anti-police fad seemed like the right thing to do—that is until they saw its drawbacks. Is that true?

A. You are spot on.

3.) Shouldn’t the local governments/jurisdictions be Re-funding Police and providing greater protection to its citizens?

A.) Yes, that is the only permanent real solution.

4.) What message is this sending to the community and its people?

A.) That the defund the Police movement is a disaster and total failure. Even extremely liberal Governor Gavin Newsom recognizes this. State and local governments must reverse these unwise decisions and RE-FUND THE POLICE, as well, and provide additional funding and support to re-establish their Blue Line guardians of law and order.

5.) What more can we, as individuals, do to help support, protect and defend law enforcement officers and other First Responders?

6) What is InVestUSA doing to assist officers across America and champion the cause of restoring law and order across our country and where may we go to support your work?

GUEST: Michael Letts is the CEO and Founder of  In-Vest USA, a national grassroots non-profit organization helping hundreds of communities provide thousands of bulletproof vests for their police forces through educational, public relations, sponsorship, and fundraising programs.
