Rubio Hints State Department May End Quiet Tolerance for Muslim Brotherhood’s Jihad in Jackets

Secretary of State Marco Rubio dropped a bombshell on the Sid Rosenberg Show when asked why the U.S. hasn’t designated the Muslim Brotherhood and its powerful U.S. front, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), as terrorist organizations. His answer: “All of that is in the works. Obviously, there are different branches of the Muslim Brotherhood, so you’d have to designate each one of them.”

This is a watershed moment. For decades, the Muslim Brotherhood has advanced a Sharia-supremacist agenda in the U.S., embedding itself through organizations like CAIR that operate under the guise of “civil rights” while pursuing the Brotherhood’s mission: to subvert and ultimately replace our constitutional system. The designation of these groups would be a major blow to their ability to fundraise, organize, and influence U.S. policy.

But make no mistake: the Brotherhood’s defenders are already mobilizing to stop it. Qatar and Turkey—two of the group’s most prominent state sponsors—will exert every ounce of diplomatic and financial pressure they can muster. Domestically, CAIR and allied Muslim Brotherhood fronts will unleash a propaganda offensive, crying “Islamophobia” in an attempt to chill public debate and intimidate decision-makers.

Nine years ago this week, then-candidate Donald Trump vowed that “the support networks for Radical Islam in this country will be stripped out and removed one by one.” That was a promise to the American people—a promise that must be fulfilled now.

Frank Gaffney, founder of the Center for Security Policy and one of the nation’s foremost experts on the Muslim Brotherhood’s infiltration of the U.S., can speak with authority on:

  • Why designating the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR as terrorist organizations is essential to national security
  • How these groups operate, recruit, and influence policy in the U.S.
  • The foreign powers working behind the scenes to protect them
  • What it will take to overcome the inevitable political pushback

Rubio’s confirmation signals that the Trump administration may finally act. The question is: Will we let foreign-backed operatives dictate our security policy—or will we dismantle the Brotherhood’s U.S. network once and for all?
