Suggested interview intro:
The leaders of the struggle for the return of the terms “father” and “mother” to Magen David Adom’s blood donation forms have addressed a letter to Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and called on him to force avowedly gay Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz to restore the forms to their previous state as the blood shortage has gotten worse.
Many blood donors have refused to donate blood following the politically-inspired omission of the terms “father” and “mother” from the blood donation forms and the substitution of “parent 1” and “parent 2.”
In response to the boycott and the resultant blood shortage, it was decided to change the forms and omit any reference to the donors’ parents, so that the terms “parent 1” or “father” and “mother” are no longer used at all. Despite this, the boycott of blood donations continues, with the boycotters demanding the return of MDA blood forms to the original wording indicating the line “Country of birth of ‘father’ and ‘mother’. Aside from the moral principle involved, the boycotters are demanding a return to medical logic – which is that this information is needed in order to characterize rare blood types that are typical of the countries of origin.”
Here to discuss the ongoing boycott and its ramifications is David Rubin, former Mayor of Shiloh, Israel, and author of “Confronting Radicals: What America Can Learn From Israel”.
Q&A:
- How did this boycott get started? Several groups of soldiers and religiously conservative students who tend to donate blood in large numbers, noticed the change in the blood donation forms and refused to donate. As the news of the politically-motivated change spread, thousands more refused to donate.
- Why is the boycott spreading so fast? Israel is a country that, for the most part, is a very conservative country that believes in the traditional family. If you dismantle the honor of the traditional mother-father family, you are dismantling the foundations of Judaism.
- What makes you think that a boycott of this kind can be successful? It already is having an impact. The Magen David health organization has already backtracked part of the way by removing Parent #1 and Parent #2. Now we’ll see if they agree to restore the original form, but a lot has already been accomplished.
- Can a boycott of this kind be successful in America? It would be more difficult because most young Americans are not as conservative or as religious as a majority of young Israelis, but the important thing to remember is that of these changes that have been aggressively pushed by the Radical Left none are irreversible. While it’s true that elections are very important, the grassroots level is where the real societal changes happen, and therefore, the more conservative public has to become more active at that level to restore what the Radical Left has been trying to dismantle.
- In your book, “Confronting Radicals: What America Can Learn from Israel”, you researched and described the Radical Left’s use of semantic confusion and gender wokeness to change America and the world.
