Border Patrol Agents Aren’t Too Pleased With Threats of Punishment Towards Officers Involved In “Whipping” Incident (Guest: Michael Letts)

As if Border Patrol agents didn’t have enough to deal with surrounding a recent migrant surge crisis with border crossers, some of them are absolutely fuming over a recent decision by the Department of Homeland Security.

The group has revealed that it will punish a number of agents that were involved in allegations surrounding possible “whipping” of Haitian migrants in Del Rio over the past year. This includes several horseback agents who are already facing enough hassles with President Joe Biden’s recent changes to border policies, as well as several migrants that are less than peaceful when it comes to crossing the border.

“What we’re seeing right now is the executive branch weaponizing the Office of Professional Responsibility to go after what President Biden perceives as political opponents,” National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd explained to Fox News. “He doesn’t like the Border Patrol. He has never liked the mission of the Border Patrol. And now he is going after these agents because he panders to open border activists. This should never happen in this country.”

With punishment details set to be announced over the next few days, Border Agents have voiced a great deal of displeasure over the proceedings – and things could get riled up even further based on new decisions made by Biden and the DHS.

Here to talk with us about the matter now is Michael Letts, a pro-police advocate who also serves as founder and CEO for InVest USA. They are a group that provides bulletproof vests to officers through various charitable organizations and sponsorships. We believe his insight will be very useful on this subject.

Q&A:

  1. Why do you think President Joe Biden has such a problem with the behavior of Border Patrol agents? Is he concerned with the rules that were put in place before, or trying to boost his reputation with other groups?
  2. What does the decision to potentially punish several Border Agents over this “whipping” incident say about the DHS’ respect for them?
  3. Should a more thorough investigation have taken place? There seem to be several Border Agents displeased with the charges, believing that their fellow agents did nothing wrong.
  4. What do you think about the “mis-coverage” provided by certain media outlets over the situation? How do you think they could’ve handled it better?
  5. How do you think this will affect the relationship between Border Agents and Biden’s government? Is there anything that can be done to repair it?
  6. Where can we learn more about InVest USA?
