Back in September 2021, Joe Biden and the Department of Homeland Security were looking to punish Border Agents for reportedly whipping migrants with straps from their horses. At the time, Biden said, “They will pay.” But perhaps he was a bit hasty in his judgment.
A new report indicates that while the Border Agents did have slight unprofessionalism with language, they weren’t guilty of any kind of malicious “whipping.”
“Despite the actions taken by certain agents, there was no evidence any migrant was forced to return to Mexico or denied entry to the United States,” said Chris Magnus, who serves as Customs and Border Protection Commissioner.
While there’s no word on the pending charges from the DHS, this does leave some question about the quick judgment made by them and the President with very little evidence.
Joining us now to speak further on the matter is pro-police advocate Michael Letts, who also serves as founder and CEO for In-Vest USA. They are an organization that provides bulletproof vests to police officers, through various charitable foundations and sponsorships.
Q&A:
- Do you think President Biden and the Department of Homeland Security were too hasty when it came to the comments they made to the Border Patrol agents back in September?
- What do you think should’ve been done instead? Simply the announcement of an investigation? Or something different?
- Should the charges be dropped if they haven’t been already? Should an official apology be given?
- Do you believe President Biden has a grudge against Border Patrol agents? Or perhaps someone on his team is trying to convince him that they aren’t doing their job properly?
- How can people help out Border Patrol agents with so much pressure coming from both the government and illegal migrants?
- Where can we learn more about In-Vest USA?
