Former Mayor of Shiloh David Rubin discusses what’s to come after the current ceasefire – and if more violence could follow.
This weekend saw both Israel and Hamas honoring their temporary truce in their ongoing battle, as well as the crucial release of several hostages, including a young 4-year old American girl.
But many are wondering what comes after once the ceasefire has reached its four day span? It is believed that both sides could be on the attack once again, as IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen Herzi Halevi noted, “…we will return immediately at the end of the ceasefire to attacking Gaza, to maneuver in Gaza. We will do it to dismantle Hamas…”
Could this potentially lead to another repeat scenario, in which Hamas negotiates with Israel for an additional ceasefire in the future? Or will the fighting resume with greater intensity?
Here to discuss the matter further is David Rubin, former Mayor of Shiloh in Israel. Considering that he’s seeing what’s happening in Israel at this moment, he provides some much-needed perspective on this subject. We welcome him to our program.
Q&A:
- What do you think will take place once this latest batch of 50-80 hostages are released?
- Will there be a new deal, or will Israel and Hamas resume their fight? And if so, how long do you think it will last?
- What will happen in northern Gaza, where most of the fighting has taken place?
- What about southern Gaza? It has been a temporary safe zone for some, but could that change?
- What is the current situation surrounding the thousands of survivors of the October 7 Hamas massacre? Have they managed to return to their homes, or have they needed to seek refuge elsewhere?
- Where do you see this battle going as we come into 2024?
- Can you tell us more about the Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund, where people can help out children that are victims of terror?
