Are Anti-Gun Politicians Trying To Change the National Defense Authorization Act In Favor of the Biden Administration?

Gun Owners of America spokesman Stephen Willeford explains why private gun owners and Constitutional-Carry types should be concerned over the move.

For a while now, President Joe Biden has been trying to enact every law he can to prevent “assault weapons” and handguns from getting in the hands of American citizens. And now, thanks to a few of his friends in Congress, he may be able to ban more.

Several of these politicians are trying to get a “backdoor” gun ban into the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). This comes after Senate leadership recently approved an amendment to the bill that will reauthorize the Undetectable Firearms Act of 1988.

This is a big deal, because if it becomes permanently inscribed into federal law, it could allow the Biden administration to impose an even larger gun ban than the one they previously implemented with handguns – a ban, by the way, that criminalized the possession of up to 40 million firearms.

With this amendment, the Biden administration could easily go after weapons with non-metal parts – and that covers a good majority that are manufactured right here in the United States.

Joining us now to discuss this further is Stephen Willeford, a spokesman for the Gun Owners of America. You may recall that Willeford was the “hero with a gun” back in the 2017 Sutherland Springs incident, and he recently co-wrote a book on the subject. His expertise will certainly prove useful in this matter.

Q&A:

  1. Why are members of Congress trying to impose this particular ban into the National Defense Authorization Act? As a favor to Biden? Something for their own agenda? Perhaps both?
  2. With Senate leadership approving the amendment, does this mean the Biden administration is one step closer to changing their intended gun ban?
  3. Doesn’t the Second Amendment protect private gun owners from changes such as this? Or is Biden and his fellow Congress members hoping to “bend the rules” surrounding it?
  4. What can people do to voice their frustration over this proposed ban?
  5. You recently wrote a book called A Town Called Sutherland Springs: Faith and Heroism Through Tragedy, revolving around your 2017 “hero with a gun” situation. Tell us more about how you put it together.
  6. Where can people find your book?
    1. You can purchase the book here on Amazon, both in paperback and Kindle format.
  7. Where can we learn more about you, as well as Gun Owners of America?
