Protests Over Arrest of Columbia University student Shine Spotlight on Growing Problem
The protests at Trump Tower recently were planned. A pro-Palestinian group organized them. The group is even anti-Jewish – The Jewish Voice for Peace! The stated reason for the protests was express outrage at the arrest and planned deportation of Mahmoud Khalil, a foreign born Palestinian believed to be behind many of the antisemitic protests on college campuses last year.
The rising antisemitism has gotten so bad since April of last year that even Columbia’s Judicial Board ruled that the problem had to be dealt with. Khalil is not the only student facing disciplinary action. Suspensions, degree revocations, and expulsions are all viable options for students who engage in or organize these violent protests.
Grant Berry is a minister and author dedicated to fostering unity between Jewish and Gentile believers in Christ. While it’s a good thing that universities are dealing with this problem, it’s a sign of a much larger, cultural and spiritual problem. “The rise of antisemitism is the real problem,” Berry said. “Until we get back to the Church embracing the Jewish people, the divide will only widen.”
His work emphasizes the biblical mandate for reconciliation and the restoration of God’s family, focusing on the spiritual reconnection between the Church and Israel. Through his ministry, he seeks to bridge historical divisions and fulfill the apostolic call to unite all believers under the New Covenant.
At the heart of Berry’s mission is The Romans 911 Project, a transformative initiative that calls the Church to recognize and embrace its Jewish roots. The name stems from Romans 9-11, where the Apostle Paul outlines God’s redemptive plan for Israel and the Gentiles. Berry teaches that true spiritual revival and global awakening cannot be fully realized until the Church and Jewish believers walk together in unity, fulfilling God’s prophetic purposes.
Through teaching, speaking engagements, media outreach, and strategic partnerships, Berry’s ministry calls the global Church to a deeper understanding of its Jewish heritage and the necessity of standing with Israel. His vision is for a reconciled, united Body of Messiah that walks in the fullness of God’s plan for redemption.
