The law enforcement veteran discusses the tragic incident, and wonders when the ambushes will come to an end.
Yet another police ambush has resulted in the unnecessary death of a dedicated Sheriff’s deputy.
Per this report from Fox News, officers were responding to a call at a disturbance call on Brookside Drive on Saturday morning.
Upon entering the scene, Master Deputy Bradley Michael Link was shot and became trapped inside, succumbing to his injuries moments later.
Another deputy, First Class Stefano Gargano, also entered and was shot in the armpit and stomach. A third deputy, Master Sheriff Harold Howell, was also shot in the shoulder while attempting to rescue Link.
No arrests have been made thus far, but two other people were found dead in the residence.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office noted, “Master Deputy Sheriff Bradley Michael Link died in the line of duty overnight heroically serving his community and fellow deputies after responding to a disturbance call in the northeast portion of our county in rural Eustis, during which two other deputies were also shot.”
This is the latest attack on police over the past few months, who were previously ambushed and shot and, in some cases, even killed. The real question is when these attacks will end.
