Texas Attorney General Goes After New York Doctor who Prescribed Abortion Pill to Texas Resident via Tele-doc
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has sued New York physician Margaret Daley Carpenter, alleging she illegally prescribed abortion pills via telemedicine to a Texas woman. The lawsuit claims Carpenter provided mifepristone and misoprostol to a 20-year-old woman, resulting in a medical abortion, which violates Texas laws prohibiting abortion pill prescriptions by out-of-state doctors. Paxton seeks $100,000 in civil penalties per violation and an injunction barring Carpenter from prescribing abortion drugs to Texans. The filing also states Carpenter is not licensed in Texas, a requirement for treating patients within the state.
Emily Berning, founder of Let Them Live, has been hard at work, perfecting a different approach, separate from political debates and legislation. Her organization understands that most women don’t want to abort their babies; they’re just overwhelmed at the prospect of being able to afford them
Let Them Live is rewriting the narrative with a simple, compassionate approach: addressing the root cause of many abortions—financial instability. Let Them Live is a groundbreaking non-profit dedicated to empowering expectant mothers by providing direct financial support. Its innovative model offers a real solution for women facing the harsh reality of choosing between their unborn children and financial survival.
This is a story of hope, action, and transformation that media producers cannot afford to miss.
The Mission: Saving Lives, One Mother at a Time
Statistics reveal that a staggering majority of women seeking abortions cite financial strain as the primary reason. They fear being unable to pay rent, buy food, or provide for their existing families, let alone a new baby. Recognizing this, Let Them Live takes a bold and pragmatic approach: instead of debating policy, they act.
Let Them Live bypasses bureaucratic red tape and ideological rhetoric by crowd-sourcing donations that go directly to mothers in need. These funds pay for necessities like rent, utilities, groceries, and other essential bills. By alleviating immediate financial stress, Let Them Live gives these women a chance to choose life for their babies while preserving their dignity and autonomy.
How It Works: A Lifeline for Expectant Mothers
Let Them Live has developed a streamlined process to ensure that every dollar donated has a direct impact:
Identifying Mothers in Crisis:
Through partnerships with pregnancy resource centers, healthcare providers, and community organizations, Let Them Live identifies women who are considering abortion due to financial difficulties.
Personalized Support: Each woman is assigned a case manager who works with her to assess her needs. This personalized care ensures funds are allocated where they will have the most significant impact.
Crowd-Sourced Fundraising
Donations are raised through Let Them Live’s online platform, where contributors can see the stories of expectant mothers in need. This transparency fosters trust and builds a community of compassionate supporters.
Direct Payments
Funds are paid directly to landlords, utility companies, and other service providers to cover the mother’s bills. This ensures accountability and immediate relief.
Since its inception, Let Them Live has raised millions of dollars, saved hundreds of lives and has given mothers a renewed sense of hope.
The Impact: Real Stories of Lives Changed
Behind every statistic is a story—one of fear, resilience, and, ultimately, hope. Let Them Live connects donors with the very women they’re helping, creating a profound bond that transcends the transactional nature of most charitable giving.
Maria’s Story: Pregnant and facing eviction, Maria felt she had no choice but to schedule an abortion. A local pregnancy center referred her to Let Them Live, which raised the funds needed to pay her rent for three months. Today, Maria is thriving with her baby boy, who wouldn’t be here without the organization’s support.
Ashley’s Transformation: A single mom struggling to care for her two children, Ashley was terrified when she discovered she was pregnant again. Let Them Live stepped in, helping her cover childcare costs and utilities. Now, she’s back on her feet and a passionate advocate for the organization that gave her hope.
These are just two of countless stories that highlight the transformative power of financial and emotional support.
Why This Story Matters Now
As the national conversation around abortion continues to evolve, Let Them Live offers a refreshing perspective: solutions over debates. At a time when public discourse often feels polarized, this organization bridges the gap by focusing on compassion, practical assistance, and tangible results.
Their work challenges preconceived notions about the pro-life movement by demonstrating that action speaks louder than words. Instead of lobbying for policy changes or relying on government programs, Let Them Live embodies the principle of community-driven change.
Human Interest: Personal stories of mothers and their babies bring the mission to life.
Innovation: A fresh approach to addressing one of the most polarizing issues of our time.
Impact: Concrete results that demonstrate the power of community and compassion.
Timeliness: As the national debate over abortion continues, Let Them Live offers a narrative of hope and empowerment that transcends political divides.
Whether as a documentary feature, news segment, or in-depth interview series, Let Them Live’s story has the potential to inspire audiences and spark meaningful conversations.
