A Transgender Woman Just Won the Title of Miss Netherlands – And That Doesn’t Fare Well For Miss Universe

Free-Filtering.org founder Michael Lee Mason explains why the controversial win won’t do the general competition any favors.

A lot of people are questioning how transgender women are able to win competitions usually meant for regular women. Well, over the weekend, a rather big one just took place, and it could throw a long-standing tradition into chaos.

Rikkie Valerie Kolle, a 22-year old Dutch-Moluccan model that identifies as transgender, has won the “prestigious” title of Miss Netherlands. As a result, she will now be able to serve as a representative for that particular country in the 72nd Annual Miss Universe Pageant, set to take place this year.

This marks the second time that a transgender model has entered the Miss Universe pageant, as the first, Spain’s Angela Ponce, did so back in 2018. However, considering how the world climate has changed since that time, Koller’s entry into the annual competition could spell much bigger trouble, possibly leading to its discontinuation.

Speaking with us now about the matter is Michael Lee Mason, the founder of FreeFiltering.org, an internet filtering service that protects children from websites that promote pornography and LGBT lifestyles as healthy. His expertise will certainly be helpful in this matter.

Q&A:

  1. This is the second time that a transgender woman has been able to enter the Miss Universe pageant. Should there have even been a first instance?
  2. There’s been a lot of discussion about how transgenders make competitions “unfair” for regular women. What’s your take on this?
  3. You noted that the pageant just needs to shut down as a whole. Why do you believe this is the best action? Do you believe it’ll actually lose money from this?
  4. Tell us more about FreeFiltering.org, and why you felt the need to put the website together.
