A Second Amendment Foundation member explains why having a firearm could provide relief in the face of rising criminal activity.
Several states are seeing a massive increase in criminal activity at the moment, including New York, Portland and Seattle. However, Philadelphia has seen a somewhat unprecedented wave of carjackings that is simply “not normal.”
A new Fox News report reveals that the city has seen an increase of 300 percent over the past year at gas stations. “A lot of people leave their cars running and are reaching into their pockets as well. The first thing they start to do after they put their gas pump in their car, they look at their phones and it’s a crime of opportunity,” Philadelphia Police Inspector Charles Layton explained while speaking with WPVI.
Most of the blame lies on the shoulders of former district attorney Larry Krasner, whose faulty policies have resulted in the city’s rise of criminal activity. He’s since objected to it, but it appears that the damage has been done.
Still, this is the latest trend that shows that more heroes are needed to fend off the criminals, and with the shortage of police officers across the country, that means the need for Constitutional-Carry citizens. With us now to speak about the incentives of this is a representative for the Second Amendment Foundation, a group that believes in the right to bear arms and supports all private citizens and their need for firearms.
Q&A:
- For the longest time, you’ve been talking about the effectiveness of citizens that Constitutional-Carry. Why do you believe they would make such a difference, especially now?
- Do you believe that Constitutional-Carry is the sufficient answer to cutting back crime, especially in the face of Krasner’s poor policy making in the city of Philadelphia?
- With that, should a Constitutional-Carry law be considered, rather than the assault weapons ban that President Joe Biden is pursuing?
- Would Constitutional-Carry also be effective during active shooter events, such as the one that took place in Colorado Springs earlier this week? We’ve heard about some numbers that support this theory.
- What kind of argument would you have for someone that believes it would be unsafe to have more citizens on the street with guns?
- Where can we learn more about the Second Amendment Foundation and its members?
