A New Video of Kamala Harris Threatening Gun Owners Could Come Back To Haunt Her Come Election Time

A spokesman for the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms discusses the potential impact of said video clip.

There’s a lot of discussion surrounding Presidential candidate Kamala Harris, and how she owns a gun even with her current stance on gun control. But a new video from the past suggests she may be more extreme towards the measure than anyone realized.

The clip, available over at the Daily Mail and TheGunMag.com, shows Harris at a San Francisco press conference alongside then-Mayor Gavin Newsom, from 2007. In it, she notes how she would “walk into” the private homes of gun owners to determine whether they were safely storing their firearms. That’s gun extremism at its worst, and a violation of so many rights.

“Just because you legally possess a gun in the sanctity of your locked home doesn’t mean that we’re not going to walk into that home and check to see if you’re being responsible and safe in the way you conduct your affairs,” she noted.

The Chairman for the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA), Alan Gottlieb, made notes on the footage. “This was Kamala’s typical word salad, but with vinegar dressing. Taken at face value, this remark underscores our contention that she has been an anti-gun extremist throughout her political career.

“Even more alarming,” he added, “for someone who was a prosecuting attorney at the time, she would have known what she was describing would have been an egregious violation of the Fourth Amendment protection against warrantless searches and seizures. But it simply demonstrates that the Bill of Rights means nothing to Kamala Harris if it stands in the way of her gun prohibition agenda. What she was suggesting was, and remains, simply outrageous. It clearly shows the lengths and depths to which Harris would go in her personal war against the Second Amendment.

“Just like Joe Biden, Harris claims she is a gun owner, because it serves her political purpose. It’s not about whether she owns a gun. It’s clear she doesn’t want anyone else to have one.”

A spokesman for the CCRKBA joins us now to discuss the matter further.

Q&A:

  1. What are your thoughts on Harris noting how she would enter the homes of private gun owners just to reassure safety?
  2. Even though the clip is years old, do you believe Harris still follows this logic when it comes to gun safety?
  3. Isn’t it curious that she’s so opposed to these gun control laws, but owns a gun herself? What does that say about her beliefs as a whole?
  4. Could this hurt her chances in the forthcoming election? Or will she likely brush it under the rug?
  5. Could Donald Trump, Harris’ main opposition, have something to say about it?
  6. Where can people call in to pledge their support to the CCRKBA?
    1. The number to support the group is (800) 699-0992.
  7. Where can we learn more about the CCRKBA and its members?
