The Significant History of the Republican Party For Black America (Guest: Clarence “Mason” Weaver)

Author Mason Weaver explains why the significance of the Party’s reflection on black history.

Though there may be questions these days surrounding the importance of the Republican Party amidst critics and Democrats, one shouldn’t overlook their significance when it comes to history.

Back in 1854, the Republican Party, made up of white men, worked alongside then president Abraham Lincoln to convince those in Congress to end slavery, thus providing black men full citizenship. The “Radical Republicans,” as they were deemed at the time, paved the way for history.

Even though history has been rough on black America since (namely with the 50s and 60s and a rough period of segregation), it’s easy for some to brush off the actions of the Republican party, especially in this day and age.

Mason Weaver, a social critic and former advisor to former President Donald Trump, is here now to discuss this topic further. Weaver runs the website LeavethePlantation.org, and is also the author of such books as The Rope!: A New Perspective of Freedom and Success and Tribalism: The Truth Between the Lies. His expertise on this topic will certainly be useful.

Q&A:

  1. What would you say is the most notable action by the Republican party when it comes to black America
    1. The Republican Party was initially founded to end slavery, sending 360,000 white men to die fighting their own brothers to end slavery.
  2. While this may have been significant back in the mid-1800s, what has the Republican Party done for black people today?
    1. Every demonstration, protest, boycott and sit-in of the Civil Rights movement was against Democrats, by Republicans. Republicans founded Black Universities and Colleges, including Howard, Spellman, and Morehouse. In turn, the Democratic Party gave us segregation, lynching, and poll tax. Not to mention they own every ghetto in America.
  3. But didn’t the Republicans and Democrats change sides over the course of history?
    1. That is merely a myth. Take a closer look at the history. At what point did they change? Every inner city school is owned by Democrats. In addition, they also destroyed Black businesses in Tulsa. Black prosperity, as a whole, is traced through Republican administrations.
  4. Some see Republicans as racist. What’s your response to this?
    1. The Ku Klux Klan (KKK) was formed by ex-Confederate Democrats. That is racist. The Democrat party held back and abolished the “40 acres and a mule” proposal after the Civil War. That is racist. The Democratic Party has brought poverty, drugs, and gangs; and have also taken away jobs, businesses and services. Not to mention the horrible state they have left hundreds of schools in. That is racist.
  5. What do you think should be done about reparations, in an effort to correct the harm America has done to black people?
    1. Keep in mind that it was the Republicans that freed the slaves. It was Republicans that marched into Texas to free black folks on Juneteenth. It was Republicans that protected black Americans from the NRA. They don’t need to provide any reparations. If any need to be given out, it should be by the Democrats, plain and simple.
  6. How does America ameliorate the harm that was done by Democrats, then?
    1. First, on moral grounds, the Democratic party owes America and black Americans an apology for hundreds of years of abuse, as well as a confession of the organized, planned manipulation of black Americans. After that, the Democratic party, for the good of America, need to be banned as a terrorist organization. Then America can become a truly free nation.
  7. We believe you have a video that shows you discussing this more in depth? Where can those interested find it?
    1. It’s posted here, on my official YouTube channel. You’ll also find a number of other informative videos there, covering a number of other topics.
  8. Where can we learn more about you as well as your books?
    1. You can find my books, including The Rope!: A New Perspective of Freedom and Success, over on Amazon. You can learn more about the Restoring Justice project at www.restoringjustice.us.
