CompassCare CEO Jim Harden and law enforcement veteran Michael Letts discuss the implications that could come from this announcement.
Following its victory over taking back the House of Congress in very close elections just a while back, House Republicans aren’t hesitating to put particular people on notice once they return to duty in January.
The Epoch Times reports that at least 42 Biden administration officials were given letters by these House Republicans, making note of the “suspected politicization” of the FBI and Department of Justice, as well as further investigations into U.S. Border security and Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden.
The Republicans, as part of the House Judiciary Committee, are looking into getting further testimony from officials on these matters. One of these letters has appeared online, noting alleged “misuse of federal criminal and counterterrorism resources to target concerned parents at school board meetings.”
With us now to discuss this further is our guest (either CompassCare CEO Jim Harden or law enforcement veteran Michael Letts) to discuss what can come from this investigation, and how this could potentially move things forward in 2023.
Q&A:
- Would you say that an investigation into the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation has been a long time coming given the actions that have taken place over the past few months? (For Jim Harden, this could lead into a discussion regarding the uninvestigated firebombing of his CompassCare location in Buffalo back in June.)
- The Republicans note the “misuse of federal criminal and counterterrorism resources to target concerned parents at school board meetings.” Has there been that much evidence to support this? If so, why do you believe they’re partaking in it?
- With the Republicans set to take the House of Congress in January, can we expect sweeping changes to existing bills across the board, as well as more challenges to President Joe Biden? (For that matter, you can ask Michael Letts about more support for police officers following what happened with the “defund the police” campaigns.)
- We noticed that Hunter Biden is amongst the subjects for the House Republicans. Do you believe more investigation will come from what happened with his laptop? Or could that merely be a smaller issue compared to what else is on the table?
- It’s no secret that President Joe Biden has been trying to change Border Security, and even gone as far as to accuse certain officers of abuse. What do you think House Republicans can do with their investigation to make things better for them? (May be a question primarily for Michael, but feel free to ask Jim if he’s interested.)
- Where can we learn more about what you’re doing at the moment?
