The FBI Offering a Reward On the Firebombing of a Pro-Life Center Six Months After It Happened Leaves Questions On Its Effectiveness (Guest: Jim Harden)

The CEO of CompassCare, Jim Harden, is why it’s taking so long for action to be taken.

Six months after a devastating firebombing of a CompassCare location in Buffalo, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are finally taking action – even though it apparently had access to a video showing the perpetrators.

The bureau recently offered a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for the attack on the CompassCare location, and posted an 18-second video showing the suspects making an escape. But some, including CompassCare CEO Jim Harden, are wondering why it took so long to offer the reward.

In a press statement, Harden noted, “This may be nothing more than an attempt to appear evenhanded, bolstering their reputation ahead of more investigations by the House Judiciary Committee into the FBI’s abdication of duty to investigate violence against pro-life organizations. If they are serious about finding the perpetrators, they will offer a $25K reward for each of the 150 pro-life organizations that have been attacked — $3.75 million dollars.”

Previously, the FBI had labeled the attack as mere “arson,” but have since bumped it up to “Domestic Terrorist,” with a female suspect being sought out.

Harden (or advancement manager Daniel Tomlinson) joins us now to discuss this further, and what caused the FBI to eventually “wake up” and see the damage done to the Buffalo CompassCare center.

Q&A

  1. What do you think it was that finally pushed the FBI to offer a reward for the attack on the Buffalo CompassCare center?
  2. Do you think the bureau is simply trying to save face as more investigations take place and more whistleblowers step forward to discuss its actions?
  3. They’ve apparently had this video footage for six months. Why do you believe it was sitting on it for so long instead of seeking out suspects sooner? Merely the pro-life approach, or something else?
  4. You’ve asked the FBI to offer rewards on other criminal acts against pro-life centers as well. Do you think they’ll respond, or will it be business as usual?
  5. Do you see the possibility of the bureau trying to continue to try and make right for pro-life groups, or is this merely a one-time occurrence?
  6. Where can we learn more about CompassCare and its services?
