Bronx Tails: The Streets of New York Exposed him to the Demons he now Helps Others Avoid
Raised on the streets of the Bronx amid drugs, gangs and violence, he learned early that survival often meant fending for himself. Alexander Pagani, author of Discerning the Demonic, grew up with parents immersed in the drug culture and says he was acutely aware of how pervasive the occult was in his surroundings, including the disturbing reality of children being snatched in connection with occult activity. By age 11 or 12, he was already being arrested, and as a teenager, robbery, burglary and kidnapping put him on a path toward years behind bars. Today, he serves the very community he once terrorized.

Feeling abandoned and rejected, Pagani embraced gang life in the Bronx, determined to survive on his own terms. Crime became his identity, and violence was a way to establish dominance. At Rikers Island, while awaiting sentencing, he stabbed two inmates simply to make a statement. He spent nearly a year in solitary confinement, where, at just 17, he began to confront the possibility that his life was over.
His Christian grandmother had never given up on him, and his aunt, Vilma, a youth counselor at Rikers, urged him to give Jesus a chance. A Christian corrections officer also caught his attention, displaying a peace Pagani desperately wanted but had never experienced.
Then came the courtroom encounter that changed everything. Pagani says he heard a voice telling him he would receive nine years and should accept the sentence. Facing a potential 21-year term, he ultimately accepted a plea agreement that reduced his sentence to nine years. He believes the experience was divine direction.
Behind prison walls, Pagani surrendered his life to Jesus Christ. He describes an immediate transformation, saying the cigarettes, pornography and cursing that had defined his life disappeared. Through studying the Bible, he came to understand God not simply as someone to fear, but as a loving Father who had not abandoned him.
Today, Pagani is a married man, author and minister dedicated to helping others transform their lives. His extraordinary journey offers a compelling conversation about the Bronx drug culture, occult influences, juvenile crime, incarceration and the possibility of redemption—even for those who have committed terrible acts.
Available for interviews, Alexander Pagani can discuss his firsthand experiences growing up amid drugs and occult activity in the Bronx, the choices that led to his imprisonment, and how he went from violent gang member to a minister serving the community he once terrorized.
