Mamdani Should Support Jews.com: Owner Available

Antisemitic Boarding: Jews.com Billboards Challenge Mamdani as Antisemitism Takes Flight on Airliners

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has unveiled a $29 million plan to combat antisemitism, but Rabbi Kirt Schneider believes the mayor now has an opportunity to demonstrate whether that commitment extends beyond political rhetoric. Schneider, a Jewish Messianic Christian whose Jews.com billboards are now appearing throughout New York, represents exactly the kind of highly visible Jewish presence Mamdani could point to when explaining what his administration is claiming to defend and protect.

  • Jews.com billboards offer Mamdani a visible symbol worth protecting
  • Silence speaks volumes when antisemitism becomes impossible to ignore

The timing is striking. Mamdani has promised to fight antisemitism while declining to adopt a specific definition of the term, according to Fox News. That leaves an important question: What does fighting antisemitism actually mean when Jewish people are targeted in ways that demand a response?

One Option for Mamdani if he were serious about confronting antisemitism

Jonathan Cahn, a Messianic Jewish author, recently described being targeted by an unruly passenger aboard an American Airlines flight. According to Cahn, the passenger made antisemitic comments and motions to choke him before other passengers intervened and the man was restrained with duct tape and zip ties.

Then, just this week, a Flydubai commercial flight carrying passengers between Dubai and Tel Aviv narrowly escaped catastrophe after the co-pilot allegedly stabbed the pilot and attempted to crash the aircraft. Passengers ultimately intervened and subdued the attacker with cords. Israeli officials have described the co-pilot as having been radicalized by jihadist ideology, although the investigation into the incident and its motive remains ongoing.

For Schneider, these incidents provide Mamdani with a very tangible opportunity to show what his pledge means. If the mayor is serious about confronting antisemitism, shouldn’t he be willing to unequivocally stand with Jewish victims when antisemitism—or radicalized hatred targeting Jews—appears in full public view?

Schneider’s Jews.com campaign gives Mamdani another highly visible opportunity. The billboards throughout New York invite people to Jews.com while Schneider openly identifies as Jewish and Messianic. Rather than speaking only in broad terms about opposing antisemitism, Mamdani could point to those billboards as representing Jewish New Yorkers whose freedom, safety and right to publicly express their faith deserve protection.

Rabbi Kirt Schneider can discuss whether Mamdani’s $29 million commitment represents a meaningful response—or whether the mayor’s silence in specific cases raises a much more uncomfortable question about his promise to fight antisemitism.

Rabbi Kirt Schneider is available for interviews.
