A new report reveals that the Israeli military now controls over 60 percent of the Gaza Strip.
Following its ceasefire deal with Hamas that began back in October 2025, Israel has now taken more steps to securing the Gaza Strip by regaining control of more than half of it, according to Times of Israel. This definitely has the attention of Founder and President of the Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund, former Mayor of Shiloh David Rubin.
- With its latest move, the IDF now controls more than 60 percent of the Gaza Strip territory, assuring that Hamas will have no opportunity to reclaim it.
- It was noted, however, that “Hamas still controls (its portion of the Strip),” at least for the moment.
- The two are still appearing to hold steady on its ceasefire, despite escalating tension between the United States and Iran.
Central Command chief Maj. Gen. Avi Bluth noted, “We are standing here (near) the northern Gaza Strip, looking at everything we have achieved – and we have achieved a great deal. More than 60 percent of the Strip is in our hands.”
He continued, “There is a security zone for the communities near the Gaza border, held by two divisions and the IDF’s finest soldiers. The threat of an invasion, as occurred nearly three years ago, is no longer possible.”
But reclamation is far from complete. “Hamas still controls (its portion of the Strip) and the murderous organization retains residual capabilities, and its vision of destroying Israel has not changed,” Bluth noted.
This is close to the initial goal that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had put in place back in May, asking the IDF to gain control of 70 percent of the Gaza Strip. Progress is being made, but there’s still work to be done.
