Clinton Half-Asks: House Oversight Expected to Overlook Clinton Complicity with Epstein in Depositions
As Congress prepares to depose a former president impeached for perjury alongside his wife over their relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, the spectacle is unlikely to produce meaningful revelations—not because the answers don’t exist, but because few of the players involved appear interested in uncovering them. The questioning, shaped by partisan incentives on both sides, is expected to skirt the deeper issues of access, facilitation, and elite complicity. What unfolds will look like accountability but may function more as containment—an exercise in managing exposure rather than pursuing uncomfortable truths.
Investigative journalist Nick Bryant is an expert on Epstein whose name appears in Epstein emails because of how problematic he was for the sex trafficker. He is also the author of The Franklin Scandal: a Story of Powerbrokers, Child Abuse & Betrayal Bryant has referred to the Franklin Scandal as a “Carbon Copy” of the Epstein scandal.
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton agreed to give a deposition under oath about her knowledge of Epstein as part of the Oversight Committee’s investigation into Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell, after months of negotiating and resisting in-person testimony. Her deposition, held behind closed doors and scheduled in the Clintons’ hometown of Chappaqua, New York, follows a threat of contempt of Congress and prolonged delays that sparked bipartisan pressure. House Republicans, led by Chairman Rep. James Comer, emphasized the need for firsthand answers—not just written statements—in order to unpack how Epstein gained wealth, access, and influence at the highest levels.
Hillary Clinton has stated she has “limited” information about Epstein’s criminal activities, denies ever having met him, and has framed some aspects of the inquiry as politically motivated. She acknowledges interactions with Maxwell at Clinton Foundation events, while asserting that other witnesses cooperated and provided testimony. Bill Clinton, who is expected to be deposed the following day, has admitted travelling on Epstein’s private jet for foundation-related work but denies knowledge of Epstein’s crimes. Both deny wrongdoing, and no public allegations directly tie them to Epstein’s sexual crimes.
Bill’s closest adviser and “body man” Doug Band appears in Epstein’s Black Book, along with a slew of phone numbers associated with the former President. The identities of these individuals may or may not be known but it would be helpful to see members of Congress vet ones that are not known. For example, Doug Band was also extremely close friends with Huma Abedin, who was to Hillary what Band was to Bill. There is an entry in the Black Book under the name “Uma.” Who is this person and what is his/her role with the Clintons? Phonetically, it’s very close to “Huma” but spelled differently. The identity of the person associated with this phone number is something the Committee could do. Confirm or eliminate it as having belonged to Hillary’s most trusted adviser. If it’s Huma, it’s as good as Hillary being in the Black Book.
Epstein played a role in creating the Clinton Global Foundation, as did Doug Band.
This context sharpens the unresolved questions that Bryant and Shinn can explore: Why did the Clintons resist live testimony for months? What can be learned by the sheer volume of their references in Epstein files? Why did Epstein cultivate relationships with elite political figures and what was exchanged for access? Is the congressional process revealing genuine transparency—or merely churning partisan spectacle?
Peter Shinn has already emphasized the limitations of this process:
“Although it’s clear Jeffrey Epstein played a pivotal role in funding and facilitating the Clinton Global Foundation, one shouldn’t expect Hillary Clinton, herself an accomplished attorney, to say anything remotely interesting or incriminating to the other attorneys who will be questioning her in a clearly partisan (on both sides) endeavor.”
Bryant and Shinn can move beyond partisan spin to investigate the nature of influence and accountability—not just assertions of guilt or innocence, but the deeper questions about how Epstein’s network brushed up against the corridors of power and how much the American people truly know.

ABOUT NICK BRYANT…
Nick Bryant is an investigative journalist and director of www.EpsteinJustice.com He spent seven years investigating a child sex trafficking network that was covered up by state and federal authorities, culminating in The Franklin Scandal: A Story of Powerbrokers, Child Abuse, and Betrayal. The trafficking network I wrote about in The Franklin Scandal has been the focal point of considerable misinformation and/or disinformation on the Internet. Individuals who, perhaps, suffer from psychiatric disorders have woven the Illuminati and shape shifting reptilian ETs into the narrative.
But the book’s foremost transgressor has been Wikipedia. The “Franklin child prostitution ring allegations” Wikipedia page has been under siege by unscrupulous Wikipedia “editors,” and they’ve intentionally made it nonsensical.
The Franklin Scandal and the Epstein scandal are quite similar in the sense that both child trafficking networks were covered up by state and federal authorities and the mainstream media has been complicit, because it never demanded justice for the children whose lives had been disfigured. I started investigating the Epstein network in 2012, when I acquired his “Little Black Book”—seven years before the case broke nationally. I pitched an article on the Little Black Book for three years to mainstream media outlets, but, like The Franklin Scandal, my pitches were met with unbridled skepticism and incredulity.
In 2015, finally, Gawker published the Little Black Book and accompanying articles. I found it ironic that Gawker, considered to be the mean kids in the media, had the fortitude to publish a story about children whose lives have been disfigured with impunity, whereas media outlets ostensibly immersed in integrity had rejected the story.
His latest book, The Truth About Watergate: A Tale of Extraordinary Lies and Liars, details the false narrative that our history books have imparted about the infamous Watergate affair.
