Slandered: Israeli Academics Under Attack With Online Bounty! (Guest: David Rubin)

The former Mayor of Shiloh discusses the heinous attack on Israeli academics, and ponders what kind of punishment should take place.

While the war between Israel and Hamas seems to be simmering down, a new kind of online hatred appears to be building towards an unlikely target – Israeli academics.

An anti-Israel group called The Punishment for Justice Movement has begun offering bounties of up to $100,000 for the murders of these particular people. What’s worse, they’ve managed to get a hold of personal information for each one, including home addresses, emails and phone numbers.

These “targets” include those who work at universities such as Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv University and several others.

The website accuses said targets of being “criminals and collaborators with the occupation army,” as well as being “distributors of mass destruction to the Israeli army” that were “involved in the murder of Palestinian children.”

It appears to be the latest example of absolute hatred against Israeli types, similar to those who have attacked such people both online and in person. The real question is, with the end of the war, will such attacks ever come to an end?

Joining us now to discuss this further is David Rubin, former mayor of Shiloh, Israel, and Founder of the Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund. Welcome, Mayor Rubin.

Q&A:

  1. What are your thoughts on this group offering bounties for Israeli academics, and even going as far as to list their personal information on their website?
  2. What is it about Israelis that certain Palestinians absolutely hate? Why would they go to such a level of wanting them killed?
  3. Now that the war between Israel and Hamas seems to be slowing down, could this online hatred follow suit? Or will some people continue to push to extremes?
  4. Should this website be investigated? And, for that matter, should its creators be prosecuted for online slander and offering bounties?
  5. Where do you see what’s happening between Israel and Hamas going in 2026? Is peace finally attainable, or could there be something that stands in the way?
  6. Tell us more about the Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund and how it can help those in need.
