Iran Opposition Guest: UN Street Heat

Thousands of Protesters with Fires in their Bellies to Scorch Iran’s Tyrants Outside United Nations Walls

Tens of thousands of Iranians and their supporters flooded Brussels in recent days, calling for the overthrow of Tehran’s clerical regime in one of the largest anti-regime protests in Europe this year. Now, the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) is preparing to take that momentum to New York.

Next week, as world leaders gather at the United Nations General Assembly, NCRI will lead a massive demonstration outside UN headquarters. The timing could not be more critical. On Tuesday, Donald Trump is expected to deliver remarks to the Assembly. NCRI supporters are determined that the U.S. President sees firsthand the depth of opposition to the Iranian regime and the broad demand for democratic change.

Ambassador Carla Sands, former U.S. Senator Sam Brownback, General Tod Wolters, former NATO Commander, and Linda Chavez, former White House Office of Public Liaison will be among the prominent American dignitaries joining thousands of Iranians in New York this month to stand against the Iranian regime’s escalating human rights abuses and nuclear provocations.

The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has been calling for regime change in Iran and is available to provide context on this huge development. Deputy Director Alireza Jafarzadeh, Member of Parliament in Exile Shahin Gobadi, and others are available for interviews.

The day after Trump’s speech, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will address the Assembly, alongside Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi. NCRI will once again mobilize outside, ensuring that the regime’s presence is met not with silence but with a loud, visible rejection from the Iranian diaspora and allies of freedom.

Iran’s President is a Puppet for Murderous Regime

The stakes surrounding this year’s UN session could not be higher. According to Reuters, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to speak following Israel’s recent military operations in Gaza City, adding another layer of regional tension to the Assembly. At the same time, France and Saudi Arabia will host a summit on advancing a two-state solution, underscoring the global appetite for addressing Middle East crises.

But Iran will remain front and center. Tehran is scrambling to avoid the snapback of all U.N. Security Council sanctions, set to take effect September 28. Its leadership arrives in New York desperate for last-minute diplomacy to salvage the nuclear deal. NCRI will be there to expose the reality behind Iran’s maneuvering: that the regime is neither reformable nor trustworthy, and that its people overwhelmingly want change.

NCRI’s protest at the United Nations aims to project the same energy seen in Brussels—tens of thousands calling for a free Iran—onto the world’s most visible diplomatic stage. With the U.S. President and other world leaders in attendance, the demonstration will serve as a reminder that the Iranian people, not their rulers, should shape the future of Iran.
