The author and Pastor of El Shaddai Ministries discusses the potential consequences surrounding the death of the Hezbollah leader.
Israel continues to make decisive strikes on leadership within Hezbollah, taking credit for the deaths of key figures, such as Revolutionary Guard Corps’ senior commander Abbas Niforoushan.
However, one particular death – that of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah – could escalate the situation much further than expected.
Many are criticizing Israel’s push against its enemy, stating that war could be inevitable if it continues on this path. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has already pushed against ceasefire efforts; and it appears the death of Nasrallah could dwindle those hopes even further.
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad noted in a statement how Nasrallah could have been a key figure in negotiating peace. “He will never be just a legend, but rather a path that continues to create a reality whose core is resistance and whose essence is dignity,” he noted.
But is a war inevitable between the two sides? Or is there any chance for peace?
Joining us now to discuss this further is Pastor Mark Biltz, an author and the founder and Senior Pastor of El Shaddai Ministries in Washington State. His experience should prove useful in this conversation. Welcome, Mark.
Q&A:
- With the death of Nasrallah, is there no hope for peace between Israel and Hezbollah at this point?
- What do you think about Netanyahu’s push forward to “obliterate” enemies instead of hearing even the slightest notion about a ceasefire?
- As we near the one-year mark of when Hamas struck Israel in an attack that killed thousands, where do you see the conflict between the two as it stands now?
- How much worse do you think the conflict will get between the two sides?
- You discuss something called the Tribulation quite often. Tell us more about it, and when you think it might take place.
