Gun Owners of America spokesman Stephen Willeford discusses the shift in Presidential nominee, and why the fight for gun rights is far from over.
After weeks of mulling whether he would remain in the running for President later this year, Joe Biden has decided to step aside.
Biden made the fateful decision Sunday afternoon, vowing to step down after his current term as President. In his stead, he is pushing for Vice President Kamala Harris to be the Democratic nominee, though that has still yet to be determined.
While some Democratic partners are breathing a sigh of relief, there could be a problem when it comes to the rights of private gun owners. Just like Biden, Harris pushes hard with anti-gun stances, and could very well push for restrictions as her superior has been doing – or perhaps all new ones.
Joining us now to discuss this further is Stephen Willeford, the spokesman for the Gun Owners of America. You may recall Willeford being the “hero with a gun” with the Sutherland Springs situation in 2017, in which he’s co-authored a book. His expertise on gun rights make him an ideal interviewee for this subject.
