A spokesman for the Second Amendment Foundation explains how President Biden isn’t holding back on going after guns.
When President Joe Biden first opened the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention, he noted that it would “centralize, accelerate and intensify our work to save more lives quickly. That’s what it was designed to do. It will drive and coordinate a government and nationwide effort to reduce gun violence.”
That said, however, this piece over on Substack indicates that there’s more to the office than meets the eye – especially when it comes to power. Lee Williams, a Second Amendment Foundation spokesman who wrote the piece, indicated as such, explaining that within its walls is “a Star Chamber of sorts, designed to come up with ways to chip away at the Second Amendment and then push them out to the states, without any scrutiny from Congress, the courts or the public.”
In other words, Biden and his team – the “secret” members working at the office – are absolutely driven in their goal to violate the rights of private gun owners for the sake of their idea of “peace.”
Alan M. Gottlieb, founder of the Second Amendment Foundation, noted, “For the first time in the history of the United States, a President has created an office within the White House solely to find ways to circumvent and violate the Constitution. And do not forget that taxpayer dollars are supporting this abomination. We are paying the Biden-Harris administration to violate our civil rights.”
The article also discusses the members that are handling the office (three thus far), which has essentially “become both an incubator and a clearinghouse for anti-gun policy. Its very existence is an affront to the Second Amendment – its secrecy, an insult.”
A representative for the Second Amendment Foundation joins us now to discuss this matter further.
Q&A:
- Why do you think Biden put this Office together in the first place? An answer to the ongoing “active shooter” events in this country? Or something that’s actually part of his own agenda?
- Does it seem a bit odd that the goings-on and active members of said Office are being kept in secrecy, outside of the research done for this news piece?
- Does this tie in with Biden’s overall plan to once again try to get all “assault weapons” banned, despite resistance from Congress and the Senate?
- If Biden manages to get re-elected later this year, is there a chance that this Office could attain even more power?
- It seems the effectiveness of this Office is doing very little, as “active shooter” events still happen regularly. If you were in charge of finding a solution, how would you go about it?
- Will gun violence play a part in the forthcoming Presidential Election?
