Is Biden’s Interest In Striking Iranian Targets Really Giving Him a Chance To Save Allies?

Retired Sergeant Major and author John deVerteuil discusses the President’s latest actions, and why they may have treacherous results.

Following the death of three American soldiers (and the injury of many others) in Jordan, many were looking for President Biden to make good in striking back in Iran. However, interestingly enough, he has provided a waiting period on this.

Biden has delivered a warning to Iran for the strike that has taken place in Jordan, promising to strike Iranian-linked targets in Syria and Iraq. However, he’s done so with a time table over the next few days, indicating that he’s biding his time. Or, potentially, giving an opportunity for potential allies in Iran to either prepare or escape.

There may be interest to Biden in terms of protecting certain interests, particularly in the Mideast. By biding his time with proposed military action, this allows them safe passage – while at the same time, having his tough words make him look like the hero in the situation, and a supporter for Israel.

However, by doing this, the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corp (IRGC), could move out of the area, allowing militias, such as Hezbollah, the chance to move in and possibly take up more aggressive actions. So the situation could backfire on Biden, even as he tries to make himself look like the good guy heading into his re-election campaign.

What should we make of this situation? Joining us now to discuss this further is retired U.S. Army Sergeant Major John deVerteuil. Along with more than thirty-three years of service to his country, John recently wrote a book called We Are America: A Voice from the Silent Majority, which “offers real, sustainable solutions to our national crises, including candid discussions on debt, term limits, taxation, and immigration.” His expertise in what’s happening make him a welcome subject for this interview. Welcome, John.

Q&A:

  1. Do you believe that Joe Biden planned the proposed strike to Iran days out so it could allow whatever interests he has in the Mideast to escape unharmed?
  2. What kind of situation could emerge between Hezbollah and Israel as a result? Could the battle between the two get worse before it gets better?
  3. Some in Iran see this as a sign of weakness for Biden, in a “put-up-or-shut-up” situation. What kind of danger does this bring to the United States, especially with the ongoing migrant crisis that’s happening right now?
  4. How much further could the United States get in what’s happening between Israel and Iran? Could this possibly cause damage to Biden’s forthcoming re-election campaign?
  5. What about what’s happening with typical Americans, especially with inflation and increasing crime rates? Shouldn’t Biden be focusing more on that than international affairs? Why isn’t he?
  6. Tell us more about your book We Are America: A Voice from the Silent Majority, and what prompted you to write it after your many years in service.
  7. Where can people find your book?
    1. It’s available here on Amazon in both Kindle and paperback form.
