The Israel/Hamas War: What About the Civilians? (Guest: David Rubin)

Former Mayor of Shiloh David Rubin discusses the humanitarian side of the war, and what can be done about it.

The Israel/Hamas conflict has been going on for several days now, with thousands of lives lost and unbelievable levels of destruction from it. And it appears the assault on Gaza will likely continue for some time.

But the real question here is what effect will this have when it comes to Israeli citizens? Again, a number of countless lives, including women and children, have been lost; and there appears to be no consideration in sight, not even with people forced to flee in other countries. (For instance, the hostility that was shown on Israelis arriving in Russia recently.)

Here to discuss this further is David Rubin, who served as the Mayor of Shiloh from 2001 to 2019. Rubin is also author of seven books, as well as the founder of Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund. His expertise is welcome in this matter.

Q&A:

  1. Israel is heating up its offensive on Gaza, why is it doing that?
  • What is Israel doing to meet the humanitarian needs of civilians in Gaza?
  • Protests against Israel have been increasing around the world including Russia, what are your thoughts on that?
  • There have been some calls for a “cease fire” to prevent the further loss of innocent lives, would you be in favor of that?
  • As you rightly pointed out, there is also a particular humanitarian crisis on the Israeli side of this conflict. Can you tell us about that, and what you are doing to correct the problem?
  • Can you tell us more about the Shiloh Israel Children’s Fund, where people can help out children that are victims of terror?
